The month of March brings many wonderful things: the first day of spring, the first signs of warmer weather, March Madness, and, of course, St. Patrick’s Day!

While NYC may host the most famous St. Patrick’s Day Parade in the world, Brooklyn is home to many cool holiday events—many that you may not be aware of.

Here’s a list of some of the best things to do for St. Patrick’s Day in Brooklyn!

St. Patrick’s Bar Crawl in Brooklyn

After a two-year hiatus, bar crawls have returned to Brooklyn. This year, the “Kiss Me, I’m Irish” crawl covers all of the best bars in Brooklyn over the course of two days: Saturday, March 12 and Thursday, March 17—St. Patrick’s Day. Tickets are available for each individual day of the crawl or as an all-access pass that lets you enjoy all of the festivities and drink specials on Saturday and Thursday.

Please remember that the NYC city mandate requires proof of vaccination to enter indoor bars, restaurants, and venues. Please be sure to have your vaccine card/picture with you so you don’t miss out on all of the fun.

Irish Music In Brooklyn

During the 1980s and 1990s, Ireland’s The Pogues gained a massive international following thanks to their unique blend of traditional Irish instrumentation with punk rock flair!

While this beloved band may have disbanded, two of their founding members, Spider Stacey and Cait O’Riordan have formed a new band named Poguetry. They’ll be out on the road in March celebrating their classic tunes.

Backed by the stellar Lost Bayou Ramblers, vocalist/tin whistle player Stacey and vocalist/bassist O’Riordan will put you in the St. Patrick’s Day spirit when they hit the stage at Brooklyn Bowl on Sunday, March 13. Get your tickets now before this show sells out!

St. Patrick’s Day Variety & Burlesque Show in Brooklyn

Strictly for adults, the Bell House in Brooklyn presents an alternative to the traditional St. Patrick’s Day festivities with a one-of-a-kind variety and burlesque show! Featuring some of the best local acts in the comedy and burlesque scenes, this unique event is perfect for those who crave something different than the usual green beer and plastic bowler hat shenanigans.

These are just a few of the many fun and festive St. Patrick’s Day events happening in Brooklyn and the five boroughs this year!  There’s still plenty more exciting events and wonderful places to enjoy on this holiday – and every day.
