What’s a great outdoor activity that’s perfect for kids and adults?
No, it’s not running, walking, jumping rope, playing basketball or any of the usual activities that first come to mind.
It’s Ping Pong!
That’s right! Ping Pong (AKA table tennis) is not just an indoor activity. It’s a great game that can be played outdoors, too. And the fine folks at the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership are inviting you to experience all the fun this month.
Starting on May 10 and running every Tuesday until May 31, you can enjoy kid-friendly outdoor Ping Pong happy hours. Presented in conjunction with The Push BK (the leaders in outdoor Ping Pong events in Brooklyn), this weekly series is a unique way to spend more time outdoors, do something different on a weeknight, and enjoy a fun activity. Best of all, it’s totally free!
Whether you’re a first timer or an avid player, you’re going to love the unique take on this classic game that this crew has in store for you. Reserve a spot online, then head on over to Brooklyn Commons Park at MetroTech and get ready to play table tennis accompanied by a live D.J. who’ll be spinning tunes while you practice your backspin. Slots are available from 5:00-7:30 PM.
Before you schedule your time, please note that there are a few simple ground rules in effect to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable time:
- For your safety and the safety of all adults and children enjoying these outdoor Ping Pong events, all paddles and balls will be sanitized after each use.
- Each player is required to sign a waiver before their scheduled game time.
- And, to make sure everyone has an opportunity to enjoy these limited time events, the folks at the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership ask that you only reserve time for yourself and your dependents.
