In May, they’re hosting their annual benefit titled ArtWorks: A Benefit for Arts Gowanus. Held on May 10 from 7 p.m.-10 p.m. at ShapeShifter Lab, this event aims to raise money for the non-profit through an evening of art and refreshments. The event will feature the work of 75 Gowanus artists and all proceeds will support the organization and arts community at large.
Arts Gowanus also keeps an events calendar that features exhibits and openings of a variety of Gowanus artists throughout the neighborhood and the city. In addition, each year the organization hosts an open studios event where art lovers can tour the studios of artists in Gowanus during a special event. The non-profit also keeps a running list of Gowanus artists, their backgrounds, mediums, and where you can find and buy their art. The list is extensive with hundreds of artists available.
