Here are three festivals to check out this spring in Brooklyn and beyond.

Brooklyn Folk Festival, April 6-8, St. Ann & The Holy Trinity Church – Dip into the world of banjos, fiddles, and Americana. This folk fest features a deep lineup of talented musicians including East River String Band with R. Crumb, Jerron Paxton, and more. In its 10th year, you can also enjoy activities like a banjo toss and fiddle contest. Come for a day or stay for all three.

The Bloody Mary Festival, April 8, Grand Prospect Hall – You read that right. A bloody mary festival on a Sunday morning. But you won’t stay in one place. This festival is a trot around some of the area’s best bloody mary spots, so you get to try a variety of unique versions of the blessed hangover cure. Participants will also enjoy live DJs at various locations. This is a national festival that’s held in several cities, but of course New York is the best.

Sakura Matsuri Cherry Blossom Festival, April 28-29, Brooklyn Botanic Garden – One of Brooklyn’s most beautiful spring festivals, Sakura Matsuri is the annual cherry blossom festival that celebrates the beautiful blooms as well as Japanese culture. Aside from the gorgeous foliage, you can enjoy a Japanese tea room, art gallery, and mini flea market as well as live entertainment. If you pick one even to attend this spring, don’t miss the Sakura Matsuri Cherry Blossom festival near your Brooklyn apartment.

These are just a sampling of the things happening this spring in the borough. Finding things to do in Brooklyn isn’t the hard part, it’s finding the time!
